Welcome
Welcome to the new homepage of the Armenian-American Bar Association of Michigan!
This site includes our history, membership roster, news about members, job postings and a list of upcoming events.
The Armenian-American Bar Association (AABA)
is a specialty bar association. It was founded in an effort
to unite attorneys of Armenian descent, as well as those
interested in learning more about Armenian culture and
heritage.
AABA has its roots in a small group of
lawyers who began meeting once a month in 1958. Twenty-seven
years later, in 1985, AABA became an official association of
the State Bar of Michigan. Members Walter Akkashian, Samuel
Churikian, Susan Gasparian, Marjorie Nanian, Charles
Semarjian, Christopher Varjabedian and George Bedrosian
served as the first board of directors.
Over the years, AABA has hosted various
events including picnics, guest speakers and social
events.
